For whatever reason, this year I have photographed a lot more boys than girls.  Like more than double.  Yeah. So I was extra excited when I got the call that this little girl was on her way and I would have the chance to bust out all my girly stuff.  I was just excited about this session in general in fact, because I was able to come up with some great ideas to incorporate their family into these images.  One of the things that had really stood out to me from their pre-session planning questionnaire was that they loved the beach.  There is something about anything beach related that always speaks to me personally.  I was also able to incorporate several items that they brought with them that were really special.  The wooden milk stool we posed baby on is a hand made family heirloom. The blue & white floral fabric is actually a blouse which belonged to mom’s grandma who recently passed.  Even the quilt from Catherine’s nursery made it in for a few shots.  There is something so rewarding about taking pictures that are not just beautiful, but also meaningful and sentimental in a bigger way.
