JBLM Newborn Photography Session and Maternity Photos
It is such an honor to be chosen as a JBLM newborn photographer by the brave men and women serving at Joint Base Lewis McChord near Olympia Washington. It is twice the honor when they also chose my Olympia photography studio for their JBLM maternity session.
It is such an honor to be chosen as a JBLM newborn photographer by the brave men and women serving at Joint Base Lewis McChord near Olympia Washington. It is twice the honor when they also chose my Olympia photography studio for their JBLM maternity session. I had such a nice time meeting these two and getting to know more about them at their pregnancy photoshoot. Having a chance to meet and get to know each other before we capture their newborn photography session really makes things so much easier. These maternity and newborn photoshoots were all about keeping things relaxed and convenient, and I was so happy to share my gorgeous studio wardrobe with them so they didn’t have to worry at all about what to wear.

Mom was so nice to share a little bit about her birth story with us. This was the first time I have ever had a family go to give birth the same day as their maternity photography session! What an incredible JBLM birth story.

On February 14th, I woke up with some higher blood pressures which I had been monitoring at home for the last few weeks. I sent a message to my midwife and we quickly hopped in the car to go see Tami- my maternity pictures were that morning and I HAD to get them done! I had a feeling we would be called into the clinic for monitoring, and surely enough we went straight from Tami’s studio to the clinic. My blood pressure remained high so we were sent to the hospital for additional monitoring.
We were admitted for a few days prior to getting the birthday party started. After a long induction (36 hours!) with minimal change, I all the sudden progressed really quickly and Adelyn Lorraina entered the world at 10:54PM on February 17th.
In that moment, the entire world stopped. John and I looked at each other and simply couldn’t believe it. As a labor and delivery nurse myself, I have seen hundreds of babies born but absolutely nothing could have prepared me for the moment our baby was placed on my chest. We were absolutely in love with her!
We returned home after an unfortunately lengthy hospital stay due to some complications and just a few days later headed back to Tami for our newborn photos. It was another magical experience and we kept telling each other how happy we were to have invested in these memories!
