Maddee Newborn | Orting baby photographer
Maddee decided she wasn’t interested a whole lot in sleeping during our session at my natural light studio in Sumner, but we just went with the flow. Although awake babies do limit some posing (safety is always first) those eyes open shots are always popular with grandparents. Read on for the story of Maddee’s birth.
I had been super active my whole pregnancy and the week before Maddee was born I went on extra walks, did yard work, and even ran 5 miles two days before I had her in hopes I would go into labor. By Saturday night all I felt was exhausted and so ready to be done being pregnant that I was just laying in bed praying my water would break.
To my complete surprise I woke up at 5:30am to my water breaking! I was only a day shy of being 39 weeks and being a first time mom I was expecting to be over due not early. I woke up my husband, called family members, and we started to get ready to go to the hospital. My mom and sister were so excited they beat us to the hospital. I was 3 cm when I was admitted and my contractions were still pretty mild so my husband, mom, and I went for a long walk. By 2pm I was almost 7 cm and I got my epidural (so thankful for it!). I got to 9 and 3/4 cm by 10pm.
I was finally fully dilated by 11pm and after just over an hour of pushing, our sweet Maddee Lynn was born at 12:06am. She was 21 inches long and weighed 7lbs 6oz. Her daddy and I are so in love with her!
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!
