Remington and Maverick Newborn Twins | Seattle Tacoma Multiples Photographer
It was my last newborn photoshoot before I went on my own maternity leave, and I could not have asked for a better session than this one. The twins came to my natural light studio in Sumner just about a week after they were born. I remember mom carrying both carseats in by herself and thinking man, this mama is a trooper! (Right after I jumped and ran to the door to help her out). It was really fun to get the chance to photograph boy/girl twins; I photographed triplets last year, but it been some time since I captured any twins. Mom was so kind to share her birth story with me so I could share it with you too; these darling babies had such a wonderful arrival into the world.
Meet Maverick Louis and Remington Jane.
It was just barely summer during an unusually hot year. I was beginning to get very uncomfortable, my belly was stretched to the max with twins and the heat along with extra body weight was taking its toll. I was scheduled to be induced at 38 weeks which was June 10th, but my babies had other plans.
At midnight on June 1st my water broke. I was very excited to finally get to meet them but I was also extremely terrified about what was to come. Did I have everything ready for them? Was I ready to be responsible for two little lives? How was I going to feed 2 babies at the same time? Was I going to be a good mom? All of those thoughts quickly disappeared as the contractions became stronger. The only thing i was thinking about at that point was an epidural!
After about 9 hours of labor and 40 minutes of pushing my two beautiful babies arrived into this world. Remington Jane was born June 1st at 9:38am weighing 4 lbs 15 oz and Maverick Louis was born 9 minutes later at 9:47 weight 5 lbs 2 oz. Both were born healthy, needing no NICU time. My husband and I were beyond happy to finally have them in our lives.
Thank you so much for sharing your story Sarah! Sarah also shared these kind words:
“Working with Butterfly Kiss Photography was an awesome experience. Tami, who was VERY pregnant at the time, made the time to photograph my newborn twins before she went on maternity leave. Being a first time mom of two very small babies I was a little nervous for other people to handle them but Tami took extreme care while photographing them and quickly put me at ease, all while taking amazing pictures. I was able to take some time for myself and relax on the comfy couch in the next room while still being able to see and hear everything that was going on. The pictures turned out better than I could have hoped for and I have already recommended her to a handful of friends.”
