Today I am sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this Spring inspired newborn baby girl portrait.  When her mom and I were working together to plan Emily’s session she told me about how she really enjoyed this picture of my baby boy Sawyer with the carrots/dirt. So I knew I wanted to do something that brought the outdoors in for them.  While I was pondering what to do, I went to a local flea market.  While there I saw someone selling these simple plastic pots of spring pansies that were wrapped in a bit of burlap.  The touch of burlap added the perfect amount of rustic charm, and I was smitten.  I knew I wanted to incorporate those elements in to this session.  I headed over to pinterest next, where this tablescape image really caught my eye.  So the idea come together to have tiny terracotta pots of pansies on a flowing layer of burlap, weaving its way around the centerpiece, which was Emily of course.  The rustic feel of the finished image was exactly what we had in mind.
